If you go out toward Mayurudan, you’ll find us at Khairatikira. We use Santoshini Mishra’s place as our main point of contact. It’s a local operation, through and through. All of us are from around here, and we know these fields like the back of our hands. Being a farmer producer company means we spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to get our produce to the markets without losing out too much. It’s a lot of coordination and talking with neighbors. We don’t have fancy brochures or a big website. Most of what we do happens right there on the porch or in the sheds. We talk about the rain, the soil, and what the prices are looking like this month. Mayurudan is a place where everyone knows everyone else, so we can’t really hide if things go wrong. We just try to keep things moving forward. Some days are better than others, especially when the harvest is heavy and the transport actually shows up on time. We’re just a group of people who decided that we could do more if we stuck together. It’s not glamorous work, and we certainly aren’t getting rich quick. We just want to make sure the farming community in Khairatikira has a bit of support when they need it. It’s a practical way to live, and we’re happy to be part of it. Some days the weather makes it impossible to work, but we just wait it out and start again when the sun comes up.
