We're the folks behind Bhudevi Farmers Producer Company, and you can find us over in Rudrapur, specifically in the Remuna area of Baleshwar. Our little operation is tucked away there in Orissa. It started because a few of us farmers wanted to stop doing everything alone. It’s a lot easier to buy supplies and sell what we grow when we do it as a group. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a glass building. It’s just a practical spot where we can get together and sort out the business. Baleshwar is a good place for farming, but it takes a lot of effort to keep things running right. We focus on the everyday tasks like checking the quality of the grain or figuring out transport. It’s not very glamorous. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up because we’re all busy in the fields. We aren't professional businessmen with suits; we’re just people who know the land. If you come by Rudrapur, you might see us sitting around talking about the next season. We try to be honest and just do our work. There are about 756019 things to do on any given day, so we stay pretty busy. We just want to make sure the farmers in our group get what they need. It’s a local thing, through and through. We've been here for a while and plan to stay. That's just how it is with us.
