Our group is located in Majhisahi, which is part of Darakholi in the Balasore area. We are a women's farming collective. Pranabandhu Lenka’s place is where we handle the paperwork and meetings. It’s a very local operation. We don't have a big staff or a fancy website. Most of us are busy out in the dirt every day. That’s where the real work happens anyway. We grow what we can and work together as a producer company. It helps us get better prices than if we were all on our own. Being in Balasore, we have a lot of neighbors who do the same thing. We don't use any of those big business words. We just talk about the weather and the soil. It’s honest work. Sometimes the harvest is great, sometimes it’s just okay. That's just how farming is. It’s a group of hard-working women trying to make things work in Majhisahi. We don't have a board of directors in suits. We just have neighbors. We keep it simple and practical.
