If you walk down Sonawne Galli in Kingaon, you’ll find us at Gut No. 182, which is Vishanu Gangadhar Najan’s place. That’s where Bolbind Maharaj Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based. We named it after the local spirit of the area. Farming in the Aurangabad district has its challenges, especially with the water situation being so unpredictable. Most of us have small plots of land, and it’s hard to make ends meet when you're buying everything in small quantities. By coming together as a producer company, we can get things in bulk and maybe save a few rupees. We aren't experts in business, but we know how to grow crops. We spend our evenings talking about the price of diesel or why the monsoon is late again. It’s a very local thing. We don’t have a website or a big sign out front. People just know where we are. We help each other with the harvest when the labor is short. It’s about making sure everyone in our group gets a fair shake. We handle our own accounts and keep things as simple as possible. It is just a group of friends and family trying to make the farm life work in Kingaon. We don't expect things to be easy, but at least we aren't doing it all on our own.
