In Palshi, over in the Sillod area of Aurangabad, we have our small setup at Gut No. 240. This is Shri Apparao Sandu’s place. Badak Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited was put together because we realized that as individual farmers, we don't have much say in anything. When we join up, we can talk to buyers a bit more confidently. The land around here is what we've always known. We deal with the sun, the pests, and the lack of water just like our fathers did. We don't have a marketing team or someone writing fancy brochures for us. We just write down what we need and what we’ve grown. It’s honest work. Sometimes we meet under the shade to talk about which crops might do better next season. It's a lot of practical talk. We share the costs of transport and try to find better seeds together. Everyone in the group lives nearby, so we see each other at the market or in the fields every day. It’s not a polished business, just a way for us to survive and maybe get ahead a little bit. We keep our records at Apparao’s house and handle our business there. It works for us. We don't need much else besides a fair price and a bit of decent rain during the monsoon to keep our families fed and the land producing.
