Rana Sugar Ltd.

If you head out to Tehsil Baba Bakala, you will find us in the village of Butter Seviyan. That is where Rana Sugar Ltd is set up. We are pretty far out in the countryside, surrounded by fields. Our work revolves around the sugar season. When the harvest starts, the whole village feels different because of all the activity. We spend our days managing the intake of sugar cane and making sure the mill is running right. It’s loud and it can get pretty hot inside the facility. We have a lot of local guys working here, and most of us have grown up in this area. We don't have any flashy signs or a big reception area. It is just a functional place where we get the job done. Sometimes the roads get blocked with tractors, and we just have to be patient. We handle all the basics of sugar production right here. There is always something that needs fixing or a truck that needs weighing. We don't talk much about goals or visions; we just focus on making sure the sugar is processed and sent out to the markets. It’s a lot of hard, physical work and keeping an eye on the gauges. At the end of the day, we are just a local mill in Butter Seviyan doing what has been done here for years. It’s a tough job but it is what we know and we just keep at it.
