Radha Swami Vaishno Dahba

Our dhaba is situated in the Ram Talayi Market on Jalandhar Road here in Amritsar. We are quite close to the main bus stand and the Ram Talay Mandir, so it’s a very busy spot. There is always the sound of buses and people shouting in the market. Radha Swami Vaishno Dahba is a simple place where we cook and serve people every day. We don’t have a fancy dining room or anything like that. It’s just tables and chairs and the smell of the kitchen. Most of our time is spent over the stove or cleaning up after the lunch rush. Amritsar is a place where people love their food, and we try to just do our part in the market. The building is a bit old and we have to fix things ourselves quite often. The 143001 area is always moving. We see travelers coming from the bus stand and locals doing their shopping in the market. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always sweeping and mopping. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in town. We just want to serve a decent meal to whoever walks through the door. It’s a plain, regular life for us here on Jalandhar Road. The Mandir nearby is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us for the first time.
