Mohan Rice Mills

Our mill is right on Tarn Taran Road, directly across from the Basant Filling Station. If you're driving by, you can't miss the smell of grain and the sound of the machinery running. We spend most of our time out in the yard or near the processing units. Mohan Rice Mills isn't a silent place; it's loud and there's always dust in the air. We work with the farmers from around here. They bring their trucks in, and we get to work. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping an eye on the machines. Some days are longer than others, especially during the harvest season. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and find someone in the office or by the scales. We’ve been at this for a long time. My father started things, and we just kept going. We know most of the drivers by name. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit, but that's just how it goes. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just process rice and make sure it gets where it needs to go. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. The location is convenient for the trucks, which is why we’re still here. It's a noisy life but it's ours and we are used to it after all these years.
