About Guru Nanak Rice Mills – Food & Beverages in Amritsar
If you look for Guru Nanak Rice Mills, you’ll find us at House No-242/3. We are really close to the Food Grain Mandi, which makes sense for what we do. Being near the mandi means there is always something happening. There are tractors and trailers pulling in at all hours. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy place where we work. We’ve been here a good while now. The address is a bit specific with the house number, but locals know the way. During the harvest, it gets really crowded around here. You can smell the raw grain in the air every morning. It's a smell you get used to after a few days. We don't have a big team, just enough people to keep the rice moving. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, drinking tea in the shade. That’s just part of life here. We don't use any fancy computers to run things, mostly just hand-written ledgers and knowing the machinery. It’s a bit messy sometimes with husks on the floor, but we sweep up at the end of the day. Working near the mandi means we see everyone passing through. It’s a good spot for us. We just keep our heads down and do the milling. It’s what we know how to do best, without making a big fuss about it. It keeps us busy and pays the bills.
