Baba Naga Rice & General Mills

Our mill is located at number 77 in Rani Ka Bagh, which is right opposite the Pegam Palace. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a mill because of the palace being so close, but we have been here for quite some time. We handle rice but also other general milling tasks, so we see a variety of products coming through the doors. The building is older and has high ceilings to keep the air moving. We have several different machines for different types of grains. The front area is usually cluttered with bags that are ready to be picked up. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the address and the name painted near the door. The noise from the mill can be quite loud, so we are used to shouting to be heard. We have a few regulars who come in every month for their supplies. Dealing with different kinds of grains means we have to be careful about cleaning the machines between batches. It’s a lot of work with brushes and air hoses. Our office is just a corner with a table and a few old chairs where we sit and talk to the farmers. We don't do any big promotions. Most people find us because they live nearby or they saw the trucks turning in. It is a steady business and we just take each day as it comes. We just focus on keeping the machines running.
