Shree Vinayak Store

Shree Vinayak Store is tucked into Naya Bazar, specifically near Karakka Laxmi Chowk. If you know this area, you know how loud it gets with all the people and the motorbikes trying to get through the small lanes. We have been working in this shop for quite some time now. It’s a narrow place, but the shelves go up high. We have to use a wooden ladder to reach the things at the top. Most of the day is spent just handing over packets of tea or sugar to people who live in the neighborhood. We keep a lot of stuff, even though the store looks small from the outside. The floor is old and a bit cracked in the corners. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the shop name on the front. In the afternoon, it gets a bit slower when everyone goes for a nap, but by evening, the chowk is full again. We have a small drawer for the cash and it’s usually messy with coins. It’s just how we run things here. There is no air conditioning, so we just leave the front wide open to get whatever breeze comes through the market. Sometimes cows walk right past the door. We see the same faces every single day. It is just a regular life of being a shopkeeper in a busy market like Naya Bazar.
