You can find R G Sahdev & Company over in Naya Bazar, right in the Ghee Mandi area. This part of the city has a lot of history and you can still see it in the old architecture of the buildings around us. Ghee Mandi used to be the main place for trading fats and oils, and while things have changed a lot since then, the name stuck. Our office is a bit old-fashioned, with heavy wooden doors and floors that have been walked on by generations. We handle a variety of business activities here. It’s the kind of place where we still use paper files and ink pens more than anything else. The atmosphere in the market is always lively. You hear the shouting of vendors and the constant ringing of bicycle bells right outside our window. It gets very busy in the mornings when the goods are being moved around. We usually start our day by clearing the front area and checking the mail that came in. There isn't anything corporate about how we run things. We know our customers by their first names and often spend more time talking about the weather or the local news than the actual business at hand. It is a slow, steady way of working that suits the character of Naya Bazar. We are just a small part of this big, messy, wonderful market.
