Panwar Tent House

You can find Panwar Tent House out on Beawer Road in Masuda. It’s a straightforward setup. We have a big space where we store all the tents and the metal frames. Since we are right on the main road, it’s easy for people to spot us. We don’t go in for much decoration at the shop itself. Most of our nice stuff is packed away in bundles until someone needs it for a party or a gathering. We’ve lived in Masuda for a long time, so we know the roads and the people around here pretty well. Running a tent house means you’re always watching the weather. If it looks like rain, we’re scrambling. It’s a lot of physical labor, dragging the heavy canvas and making sure the stakes are driven in right. We don't have a receptionist. If you come by and we aren't there, we're probably out at a site working. Just wait a bit or come back later. We keep things pretty informal. There’s usually a pot of tea going in the back. We use a lot of old ropes and sturdy poles that have seen many years of use. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for the local festivals and weddings. We just do our bit and try to keep the gear ready. The traffic on Beawer Road is always moving, but we’ve got our own little rhythm going here in Masuda.
