New Modi Tent House

Down here in Kekri right on the Jaipur Road is where New Modi Tent House is located. It is a good spot for us because the road is wide enough for the big trucks to park. We have a lot of space for our tents and decorations. Usually there is a pile of bamboo or metal frames lying near the entrance. We spend a lot of time checking the lights and wires to make sure everything still works. It is a bit of a mess sometimes but we know where everything is. The Jaipur Road gets a lot of traffic so it is always loud outside the shop. We deal with people from all over Kekri and the nearby villages. They come in and we talk about the price and we write it down in the book. There isn't any complicated stuff involved. We just provide what is needed for the party. My brother handles the bookings while I go out with the crew to set things up. The sun hits the shop front pretty hard in the afternoon. We have some old chairs for people to sit on while they wait for us to find their order. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just have the shop on the road. Most of the time we are just loading things up or cleaning the fabric after a dusty event in the village.
