Down here in Bijaynagar, specifically on Balaji Road off Beawer Road, is where you will find Modi Tent House. It is a busy little corner where we keep all our supplies. We have piles of carpets, poles, and lighting equipment that we shuffle around every day. It’s a lot of manual labor, mostly involving lifting heavy things and making sure nothing gets torn or broken. The weather really affects our day; if it rains, we have to scramble to cover everything up so the stuff doesn't get ruined. We spend a lot of time out on the road, going to different sites to set things up for weddings or local fairs. When we are back at the shop, we are usually checking the inventory or repairing some of the frames that got bent. The area around Balaji Road is usually full of people, so there is always someone stopping by to ask a question or just to say hello. We don't use any complicated systems, just a notebook and some common sense to keep things running. The work is dusty and tiring, but it is what we know how to do. Sometimes the trucks are late or a piece of fabric is missing, and we have to figure it out on the fly. It is a simple life of helping people put together their events. We are just a local crew doing what needs to be done to get the tents up.
