Goud Tent House

Goud Tent House is located in Silora Roopan Garh. We are right near the Jain Mandir, which is a very quiet and peaceful spot. It’s a bit different from being in the middle of a big city. Most of the people who come by are locals from the village or people visiting the temple. The shop is a simple building with a corrugated metal roof. When it rains, it gets very loud inside. I spend a lot of my time sitting outside on a charpai when there isn’t much work to do. We keep the tents stacked up against the back wall. Since we are near the Jain Mandir, we try to keep the place relatively tidy out of respect. It’s a slow-paced life here in Silora. We don’t have thousands of items, just what we need for the local community. Sometimes the wind blows quite hard across the open areas, and we have to make sure the tents are tied down properly in storage. I’ve lived in this area all my life, so I know everyone who walks past the door. We don't use any modern marketing or anything like that. Our reputation is just based on being here for so many years. The work is hard on the hands and the back, but it's what we do. By the time the temple bells ring in the evening, we are usually getting ready to close up for the day. It’s a steady existence.
