We are based at A/9 inside the Shahi Palace Hotel, which is part of the Soham Apartments right by Vastrapur Lake. It’s a pretty well-known spot in the city, and having the lake so close is nice because you see people walking their dogs or going for jogs in the early morning. Our space is just a small unit, nothing too elaborate. Since we’re located within the hotel premises, we get all sorts of people walking past our door. It’s a bit of a mix of hotel guests and local residents from the apartments. The air conditioning works okay most days, which is a relief when the Ahmedabad sun is beating down on the pavement outside. We’ve got our regular routine here, starting the day with some tea and checking what needs to be finished. The furniture is basic, mostly just what we need to stay organized. Sometimes it gets a little cramped if more than two people visit at the same time, but we make it work. It’s a practical location for us. We don’t have those big flashy advertisements you see elsewhere. Most people find us just by being in the area or asking at the hotel front desk. It’s a steady kind of life here, watching the seasons change over the lake while we stick to our daily tasks in the office. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way each morning.
