Our little spot is at 4, Bhavsar Bhavan. It's right in Dhanush Dhari Society. If you know the Naroda Road area in Ahmedabad, you know it gets quite dusty and busy around here. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and getting the systems ready. People come in mostly because their phones aren't working right or they need a new SIM card. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. It’s a practical kind of place. Not much room to move around when it gets crowded. We deal with bills and data plans. Sometimes people are frustrated because their signal is weak at home, so we listen and try to see what the system says. It's a lot of typing and looking at small screens. The fans overhead keep things moving, though it gets hot in the afternoons. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just helping folks stay connected so they can call their families. We keep a stash of forms behind the counter. The tea from the stall nearby is what keeps us going. It's just a regular shop on a regular street. We’ve been here at Saijpur Bogha for a good bit of time now. We know the shortcuts to get here and which days the traffic is worst. It’s just us, the phones, and the customers coming through the door every day. We just try to get the tasks done before we head home for dinner.
