Vishal Caterers (Shahibaug)

We’ve been over here at 4 Green Complex for a while now. Most people know us because we’re right opposite Rajasthan Complex in Shahibaug. Running Vishal Caterers takes up most of our time, but that’s just how it goes when you’re dealing with food. It’s a lot of early mornings and staying up late to make sure everything is ready. We don't really do the fancy office thing; we’re mostly in the kitchen or out at events. Usually, it’s just us making sure the pots are clean and the ingredients are fresh. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when there are three weddings on the same day, but we manage. My uncle started this whole thing and we just kept going with it. People around here in Shahibaug usually just walk in to talk about their menus. It's easier that way than over the phone. We’ve seen kids grow up and then come back to us to cater their own weddings years later. It’s a bit strange how time flies. We just stick to what we know, which is cooking and making sure there’s enough for everyone to eat. No one should go home hungry, that’s just common sense. We keep the place tidy, though it gets busy. If you’re looking for us, look for the sign near the complex. We’re usually around, even on weekends. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do here in Ahmedabad. It is a lot of hard work but it keeps us busy.
