United Restaurants Ltd is tucked away in 4, Sattadhar Society, right near Mahavirnagar in Amraiwadi. We aren't a single big restaurant you can walk into and sit down at; it’s more of the office where we handle the behind-the-scenes stuff for our food business. Ahmedabad is a city that loves to eat, so we stay pretty busy. Being in Amraiwadi means we are right in the middle of a busy residential area. Our office is a bit cramped with all the ledgers and kitchen equipment catalogs laying around. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and making sure the ingredients are fresh. It’s hard work and the hours are long because the food industry doesn't really sleep. We started small and just kept going. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking on how things are running. The neighborhood is lively, and there’s always noise from the street, which we’ve gotten used to. We just try to make sure everything is handled properly so the food gets where it needs to go. Sometimes we lose track of time when we’re working on the menus or the accounts. It’s a local business run by local people who just enjoy the hustle of the city. If you’re in the area, you’ll probably see us coming and going from the society. We stay grounded.
