Thomas Cook (I) Limited

We are located at 38, Bhagwati Krupa Society, which is just near the Muktjivan School on Canal Road. Ghodasar is a pretty busy area of Ahmedabad, and being in a society makes it feel very local. Thomas Cook is a big company, but here at this branch, it’s just a few of us working out of a converted house. We spend our days dealing with travel plans and money exchange for people in the neighborhood. It’s not like those fancy offices you see in malls. There are chairs for people to sit while they wait, and the walls are covered with some old maps. Since the school is nearby, it gets really loud when the kids get out in the afternoon. We usually have the door open to let some air in, so we hear everything on the street. It’s a simple routine. We check the rates, talk to people about where they want to go, and fill out the forms. Sometimes the printer jams or we run out of chai, and that’s about the most excitement we get. People from the society often pop their heads in just to say hello. It’s a friendly place to work. We don't use any fancy talk; we just tell people what’s available and help them get their tickets or currency sorted. It’s just a small, practical office helping the folks around here in Ghodasar.
