About The Times Of India Group – Tourism in Ahmedabad
We are located at 19 Gajjar Society in the Behrampura area of Ahmedabad. It’s right near the Pandit Nehru School, so the whole place is buzzing when the kids are arriving or leaving for the day. You can hear the school bells and the noise from the playground from our windows. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a regular building in the society. We have been here for a good while now and the walls are starting to show a bit of age. There are stacks of newspapers and old files piled up in the corners. The desks are mostly metal and they’ve got scratches on them from years of use. It gets very hot in the summer here in Ahmedabad. We have some ceiling fans that hum all day long to keep the air moving. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit and wait for the generator to kick in. The tea guy comes by twice a day with a kettle and small glass cups. That's usually when we take a break and talk about the news or what's happening in the neighborhood. Behrampura is a busy, working-class part of the city. We like being here because it feels real. There’s no fancy glass and steel here, just bricks and the smell of ink and old paper. We just get on with our work every day without much fuss or fanfare.
