The Metropole Hotel (Gujrat)

Our office is over at A-7 in Punya Apartment, right by Nehru Park in the Vastrapur area. Ahmedabad is a big city, but Vastrapur has its own nice feel, especially with the park so close by. We’ve been operating out of this apartment for a good while. It’s not what you’d expect for a hotel office, as it’s tucked away in a residential building. That’s just how we like it, though. It keeps things quiet so we can focus on the tasks at hand. We spend most of our time dealing with reservations and talking to vendors. The rooms in the apartment are filled with files and some old furniture we’ve had since we started. It’s a very relaxed place to work. We don’t wear suits or anything like that. Usually, it’s just jeans and a shirt. We know the security guard at the gate and the people who live in the other flats. Sometimes we go for a walk in Nehru Park when we need a break from the screens. We don’t have a big shiny lobby here; that’s for the hotel itself. This is where the real work happens, the gritty stuff that keeps the lights on. We don't make big promises we can't keep. We just try to be honest with everyone who calls or stops by. It’s a simple, local business run by people who live right here in the city, just trying to make things run smoothly.
