Working here means things are always moving fast. This isn't a quiet desk job. It is a big operation with a lot of moving parts, from the food to the rooms and the events. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing out replies to people who want to book a space for a wedding or a big lunch. The atmosphere is usually a bit frantic, especially when there is a large function happening. You can hear the kitchen noise and people talking in the background almost all the time. We don't really have a set routine because every day brings a different kind of crowd. Ahmedabad is a place where people love their food and their celebrations, so we stay very busy with that. We don't use much corporate talk here; we just try to be clear about what we can do and when. Sometimes we are juggling three things at once while trying to answer the mobile. It is just the way it goes in a place this size. We aren't a small shop, but we still handle things one person at a time.
