We’ve been here at 7/A Dayanand Society for a while now. Most people around Juhapura know where The Grand Bhagwati is because of all the events. It’s not always easy keeping up with everything. Some days the kitchen is just non-stop and you barely have time to think. We spend a lot of our mornings checking the inventory and making sure the staff knows what’s going on for the day's bookings. Ahmedabad gets really hot, so we’re always fussing over the air conditioning to make sure it’s actually working for the guests. It’s a lot of physical work, honestly. We aren't trying to be some fancy corporate machine; we’re just a bunch of people trying to get the food out on time and keep the rooms tidy. You’ll see us running around the Dayanand Society area early in the morning. Sometimes things go wrong, like a lightbulb blowing out right before a party starts, and we have to scramble to fix it. That's just how it is in this business. We don't have some big fancy manual for everything. We just talk to each other and get the job done. It’s local, it’s a bit noisy, and it’s what we do every day here in Ahmedabad. We like the neighborhood even with all the traffic outside. It feels like home to most of us who work here and spend more time at the property than we do at our own houses.
