Even though the name says Ahmedabad, we are actually operating from Darbhanga in Bihar, India. It’s a bit of a long story why the name mentions a different city, but here we are in Darbhanga. This place is quite different from the busy streets of Gujarat. We’re just a group of people working in the hotel industry, trying to keep things running smoothly here in Bihar. St Laurn Hotel (5*D) Ahmedabad is what’s on the sign, but the local air we breathe is definitely from Darbhanga. We spend our days managing rooms and helping out whoever walks through the doors. It’s a lot of work, especially when the season gets busy and everyone wants something at the same time. We don't have a big corporate team here; it’s mostly just us local staff members who know the area well. The building isn't a skyscraper, but it’s ours and we take care of it. Working in Bihar has its own rhythm, and we’ve adapted to the local pace. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the beds are made and the guests are looked after. It’s a simple business at the end of the day.
