Shodhan Foods Pvt Ltd is tucked away in Sapphire House, which is right behind the Law College and near Law Garden. It’s a nice part of the city, especially in the evenings when the garden area gets lively. Our office is a bit more laid back than the ones in the big industrial parks. We have a decent view of the trees from some of the windows. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our equipment. We do a lot of testing and planning for our food lines here. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many samples and boxes stacked around, but we know where everything is. Our team is like a small family; we’ve worked together for a long time and we don't really do the whole corporate hierarchy thing. Someone makes tea, and we all sit around the big table to talk about the day’s tasks. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been doing business with us for years. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to suppliers, making sure we get the right ingredients at the right price. We just focus on the day-to-day operations and try to make sure everything that leaves Sapphire House is something we’d be happy to eat ourselves. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
