M. D. Masala

M. D. Masala is located right across from Sant Anna School, near the Ambicangar bus stand. Being on the highway road means there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside our doors. You can usually smell the spices before you even see the sign for our place. We have been at this spot for a long time. It’s a busy little area with people always coming and going from the bus stand. Inside, we are mostly busy grinding and packing things up. It gets pretty hot in the back during the summer months. We aren't a big factory; it's more of a local operation where everyone knows their job. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. We just open up in the morning and start the machines. Sometimes we have to shout to be heard over the sound of the grinders and the trucks passing by on the highway. We see a lot of the same faces every day, people dropping in on their way to work or school. It’s a simple setup. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spice dust that gets everywhere. The shelves are usually stacked high with bags and jars. We don't really have a plan for the future other than just keeping the business running. It is what it is, a small spice place on a busy road. We just try to get through the orders each day.
