Kumar Spices is located at unit 19 in the Jay Jagannath Estate. We are right behind the Sardar Patel Estate in the Odhav area of Ahmedabad. When you get close to our unit, you can usually smell the spices in the air. It’s a very strong scent that stays with you all day, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Our space is mostly for storage and some basic processing. It’s a busy industrial estate, so there are always people moving around and trucks backing into tight spaces. We have a small crew of local workers who help with the weighing and the bagging. It’s a lot of manual labor and it can get very dusty inside when the machines are running. We don't have a big corporate board or fancy office furniture. There’s just a small desk where we do the paperwork and take orders. Odhav is a pretty tough area to work in because it gets so incredibly hot, but we have our daily routine of tea breaks and lunch. Jay Jagannath Estate can be a bit confusing to navigate if you aren't from around here, but we are well-known in this block. We don't bother with big advertisements. We just make sure the spices we pack are of a decent quality. It’s a family-run business and we just want to keep things going steadily. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time.
