Shalby Hospital In Ahmedabad

We have been in this part of Ahmedabad for a while now. The building is right there in Naranpura, which is always busy with scooters and people going to the market. Inside the hospital, it’s a different world. The white tiles are cleaned every morning but by noon there are muddy footprints everywhere. We have a small staff room where we eat our tiffins. Sometimes the elevator gets stuck for a minute, and we just wait it out. It is not like those fancy hotels you see on TV. It is a place where people come because they have to. We see a lot of broken bones and fevers. The reception desk is made of dark wood and has too many files piled up on one side. Most of us live nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw to get here. The nights are quieter, but you can still hear the traffic from the main road. We don't have a big cafeteria, just a tea stall outside the main gate where the families sit. It gets hot in the afternoons, and the AC in the lobby makes a clicking noise that we’ve all stopped noticing. We just keep things moving, making sure the patients have their medicine and the rooms are ready for the next person coming in. It is just a regular hospital doing its thing every single day without any big fuss.
