Up here on Neelkanth Road in Mount Abu, things move a bit differently than they do down in the plains. Sarovar Hotels has a presence here among the hills and the trees. It’s a beautiful part of Rajasthan, and we feel lucky to be working in such a place. Our office isn't anything fancy; it’s just a base where we manage the local side of things. We deal with a lot of tourists who are looking for a break from the heat, and that keeps us pretty busy during the season. The air is thinner and cooler here, which is a nice change of pace. We don't spend much time on polished speeches or big promises. We just focus on making sure the rooms are ready and the staff knows what to do. Sometimes the mountain roads make deliveries a bit late, so we have to plan ahead. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but the view makes it worth it. We have our regulars who come back every year, and we recognize their faces. We aren't trying to be some massive corporate machine. We just want to run a decent place where people can rest. When the sun goes down behind the hills, it gets quiet and we start wrapping up for the night. It’s a simple life, focused on hospitality and the daily needs of the people who stop by for a room.
