Down in Saraswati Nagar, specifically at A/2, is where we operate. Ahmedabad is a big, sprawling city, and this little pocket of it is where we’ve set up our hotel and resort office. It’s a bit different from the bigger corporate chains you see downtown. We have a lot of regular tasks that keep us busy from morning until late evening. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time on maintenance because the weather here can be tough on buildings. Whether it's the heat or the rain, something always needs fixing or painting. Our rooms are kept as clean as we can get them, and we try to make sure the water is running right and the AC is cold. People come here when they need a place to stay that isn't too complicated. We don't have a lot of flashy signs or big advertising budgets. Most of the people who stay with us found out about the place from a friend or they just saw the sign while driving through Saraswati Nagar. It’s honest work. We make sure the linens are fresh and the floors are swept. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic during the wedding season when everyone wants a room at the same time, but we manage. It’s just us, working through the daily chores to keep the doors open.
