You can find Saahas Impex over in the Ghatlodia area of Ahmedabad. Our office is in the Binapark Society, at number 32/2. It is a typical residential society where a few of us have set up this import and export business. Being in a society means we have neighbors living right next to us, so we try not to be too disruptive. We spend most of our time on the phone or on our computers dealing with shipments and suppliers. There is always some kind of logbook or shipping document sitting on the table. The space is a bit cramped because we have files and samples everywhere. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a script. It’s just us doing the work and making sure the goods get to where they are supposed to go. Ahmedabad can get incredibly dusty and hot, so we usually have the AC running if it’s working, or just the fans blowing air around. We’ve been in Ghatlodia for a good while and it’s a convenient spot for us to reach the main markets. We don't really have meetings in fancy conference rooms. We usually just talk over tea in the middle of the office. It is a simple setup and we are fine with that. We just want to get through our daily tasks and keep the business moving forward.
