Running a place like this means there is never a quiet moment. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after one event and setting up for the next one. The kitchen is always buzzing with the smell of different dishes being prepared. We do not have some big corporate philosophy. We just try to make sure there is enough food and the chairs are lined up straight before the guests arrive. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, which is a pain when we are carrying heavy trays, but we make it work. It is a family-run kind of vibe here. My brother handles the kitchen and I usually take care of the bookings and talking to people. We have had all sorts of parties here, from small birthdays to wedding functions. It gets loud and chaotic, but that is the nature of the business. We try to keep things simple for everyone. No complicated contracts or hidden stuff. People just want a place to eat and celebrate, and we provide that space. The floor needs polishing quite often because of all the dancing, but that is a good sign. We are just regular folks trying to run a decent restaurant and hall in this part of town.
