Pinky South Indian Food

Our little place is called Pinky South Indian Food and we sit right in the middle of Zaveri Vad on Relief Road. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how busy Relief Road can get. We are very close to the Bank of Baroda branch there, which is how most people find us if they get lost in the lanes. It’s a crowded area with a lot of shops and people moving around all day long. We start early in the morning because that’s when people want their breakfast before heading to work. The kitchen gets really hot with the big vats of sambar and the stoves going, but that is just how it is. We don't have fancy decorations or air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. It is a simple setup with a few benches and tables where you can sit down for a quick meal. Most of our regulars are shopkeepers from around Zaveri Vad or people visiting the bank. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just make the food every day and hope the flavors are right. It’s a lot of manual work, grinding the batter and chopping everything up by hand. We’ve stayed in this spot because the community here is good and people know where to find us. It’s noisy and busy outside, but inside we just focus on the cooking.
