P & O Cruises U.K., Southampton.

We are based at Sulay Row Houses, Unit No. 14, near the Saket III Bungalows in Vejalpur, Ahmedabad. It might seem a bit odd to have P & O Cruises U.K., Southampton listed at a row house in Gujarat, but this is where we do our work. We handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff for the cruise lines. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it’s a bit quieter here than in the middle of the city. We work out of this unit and spend our days on the computer or the phone, dealing with people from all over. Vejalpur is a decent area, and we like being near the Saket bungalows because it’s easy to find. The office is pretty relaxed. We don't wear suits or anything like that. We just focus on getting the bookings and the paperwork right. It’s a bit of a strange mix, talking about giant ships in the middle of the ocean while we’re sitting here in sunny Ahmedabad. Sometimes the heat is quite something, but we have our fans and our cold water. We don't have any big mission statements. We just show up and do the work that needs doing. People around here know us as the cruise office in the row house. It’s a quiet, steady way to earn a living.
