Neel Caters is over in Ghodasar on the New Canal Road. We are in Tulsi Kung Society at B13. The canal road has changed a lot over the years with more traffic now than before. We run everything from our home base here. It’s a quiet society for the most part except when we are loading the trucks. We do a lot of traditional cooking. We don't have a big fancy menu with pictures. We just tell people what we can make and they choose. Most of our customers are from around Ghodasar or people who heard about us from their relatives. We spend the morning hours cleaning the kitchen and getting the coal or gas ready. It’s a family-run thing so everyone chips in when it gets busy. My son handles the phone calls and I stay in the kitchen to watch the pots. We don't use any of those corporate phrases because we don't even know them. We just make food. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to deliver on the canal road but we figure it out. We have some old recipes that we don't change because people like them the way they are. It’s not a glamorous job. There is a lot of soot and steam and heavy lifting involved. But we have been doing it for years at this address and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
