Mausam Foods

We run Mausam Foods out of House No.A-2 in the Mora Apartments over in Kankaria. We are tucked away near the football ground, which is great because it’s a lively area, especially on weekends when there are matches going on. Our kitchen is where everything happens. It’s not a massive factory; it’s more of a home-style setup where we prepare snacks and meals for the local community. We started small, just making a few things for our neighbors, and it slowly grew from there. Now we have people coming from further away in Kankaria to pick up their orders. We don't have a storefront with big glass windows. You just come to the apartment and we bring your food out. It’s very informal and that’s how we like it. We use recipes that have been in our family for a while, so the taste is consistent. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to close up early to head to the market. That’s just part of being a small, family-run business. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to manage social media. We just talk to people when they stop by. It’s hard work being on your feet all day in a hot kitchen, but seeing people enjoy what we make makes it worth the effort. We’re just regular people trying to make a living doing something we know how to do. It isn't always easy, but it keeps us busy and connected to the neighborhood.
