Running a place like Le Meridien Ahmedabad takes a lot of effort, more than most people think when they just see the building from the street. We have guests coming in at all hours of the night, some tired from long flights and others just here for a quick meeting. It’s a lot of laundry, making sure the beds are right, and keeping the lobby looking decent. We spend a good chunk of our time just walking the floors to make sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes a lightbulb goes out or a guest loses their key card, and we have to run around to fix it. It’s not always glamorous work behind the scenes. The kitchen gets hot, and the staff is always moving. We’ve been part of the Ahmedabad landscape for a bit now. People come here for weddings or just to stay the night while they’re passing through. We try to keep things quiet and comfortable for everyone. It’s a big building to look after, and there’s always something that needs cleaning or a bit of paint. We don’t really do big speeches about what we do, we just show up, open the doors, and get to work. Most of us have been working here long enough that we know the quirks of the building. It’s just a hotel, and we’re the people who keep it running day and night so people have a place to sleep after their travels.
