About Hotel Industry As A Cashier – Tourism in Ahmedabad
I spent a lot of time working as a cashier in the hotel industry out here in Rajasthan. It’s a job that keeps you on your feet, especially when the tourist season kicks in. You meet all sorts of people from everywhere. Some are in a hurry to check out, others want to chat about their trip. I handle the money, count the bills, and make sure the drawer matches at the end of the shift. It can be stressful when the lobby is full and the computer starts acting slow. I’ve learned to stay calm even when things get messy. Rajasthan is hot in the summer, so the air conditioning in the hotel is a lifesaver. My desk is tucked away behind the main counter, cluttered with receipts and pens that always seem to run out of ink. It’s not the most exciting work, but it pays the bills and I’ve gotten good at spotting fake notes. There’s a certain rhythm to it. Morning rushes, quiet afternoons, and then the late-night arrivals. Sometimes I help the front desk guys if they’re overwhelmed. We all just try to get through the day without too many mistakes. It’s honest work, and I’ve made some decent friends among the kitchen staff and the cleaners over the years. I think that's why I've stayed so long.
