Holiday Village Resort

Holiday Village Resort. We are out in Nadia, West Bengal. It’s a bit of a change from the crowded city life. Our place is more about the space and the trees. We spend our days maintaining the grounds and looking after the rooms. It’s a resort, but it’s not one of those high-end luxury places you see on TV. It’s more basic and local. We have people coming in from different parts of West Bengal for a break. We don't have a big corporate office; we just work from the front desk here. The weather can get quite humid, so we are always busy with the fans and the garden. We have to sweep the leaves and keep the paths clear. In the evenings, it gets quiet, which is nice. We don't have a mission statement or any of that. We just want to make sure the guests have a place to sit and some food to eat. Sometimes we have to deal with bugs or mud because of the location. That’s just part of being in Nadia. We use simple English when we talk to our visitors. It’s a lot of physical work, keeping the grass cut and the rooms aired out. We’ve been here for some time now and we just take it one day at a time. I don't think we need anything fancy to keep going. Just the usual daily chores and seeing people come and go.
