This branch is located in Dawana House over in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. It is part of the G.H.B. housing complex, so we get a lot of people from the local apartments coming in throughout the day. Banking here is usually a mix of people checking their passbooks or trying to figure out some complicated paperwork. The lobby gets quite crowded on the first of the month when the pensions and salaries come through. We have a few counters where we try to get through the line as fast as we can. It is not a quiet place, especially when the AC is humming and everyone is talking at the same time. The security guard out front knows most of the residents by their faces since they are here so often. We deal with a lot of small stuff every day, from lost cards to updating people's home addresses. The office furniture is a bit older, but it serves the purpose for what we do. We do not have those fancy coffee machines you see in the big corporate headquarters downtown. It is just a regular local bank branch doing the daily grind. Sometimes the computer system is slow, and we have to ask people to be a little patient with us. Most people are understanding since they live right around the corner. We try to keep the queues organized, even when it gets a bit chaotic during the lunch hour. It is just a normal neighborhood bank.
