Gandhi Caterers

We’ve been running Gandhi Caterers out of our place in Chandraprakash Society for quite some time. We are right behind the Apsara Cinema in the Kankaria area, so it’s easy for people to find us. Mostly, we do the cooking for weddings, community functions, and small get-togethers at home. It’s a family business through and through. My uncle started it, and now we all help out with the prep and the serving. We don't have a big corporate setup. It’s just us and a few helpers we’ve known for years. Kankaria is a busy place, and we stay busy too, especially during the wedding season. We focus on local dishes that people here grew up eating. We try to source our vegetables from the local market every morning so everything is fresh. The kitchen can get pretty hectic when we have three different orders going out, but we manage somehow. We’re not the type to use fancy words to describe our food. It tastes like home-cooked meals, just in much bigger pots. We take pride in the fact that we don't cut corners with our ingredients. If someone asks for a specific spice mix, we do our best to get it right. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. You can usually find one of us at the house if you want to talk about an event. We just want to get the food right and be on time.
