G K D Caterers is located over at Ghanshyam Avenue in Paldi. We’re up on the fourth floor, right behind the Bhagvan Nagar Tekra area. We’ve been handling food for events for a good while now. It started small, just helping out friends with their parties, and then it turned into a real business. We handle everything from small family dinners to bigger gatherings at the societies nearby like Vishvakunj Society. Our kitchen is where we spend most of our time. It’s not a big fancy office, just a place where we get the cooking done. We use recipes that have been in the family for years. People in the neighborhood know us pretty well by now. We don't really do big advertisements or anything. Most of our work comes from people telling their neighbors about the food they had at a wedding or a birthday. We try to be honest about what we can do. If a menu is too big or complicated, we’ll tell you straight. We like to keep things simple and make sure there’s enough for everyone to have seconds. Dealing with logistics is the hard part, getting the stoves and the plates to the right place on time, but we’ve gotten used to the hustle. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but seeing a plate come back empty is a good feeling. We’re just local people doing what we know, trying to make sure the food is ready when people are hungry.
