We operate out of A 601 in the Agrwal Apartments over here in Satellite. It’s a bit different being in an apartment building instead of a big glass tower, but it works for us. People from the neighborhood come by to ask about their accounts or sort out some paperwork they got in the mail. The lift in the building is sometimes slow, so we end up chatting with neighbors while we wait. It’s mostly just us at our desks handling the daily stuff that comes with banking. Satellite is a nice area, plenty of shops nearby, so it’s convenient for errands. We spend a lot of time on the computer checking numbers and making sure everything matches up. It’s quiet most of the time, which is good when you’re looking at figures all day. Sometimes we have to stay a bit late if the system is slow or if there's a lot of filing to catch up on. We’ve got a small kettle for making coffee when the afternoon slump hits. It’s a simple setup really. We aren’t trying to be anything huge, just a reliable place where people can come and talk about their finances without feeling rushed. Most of the people who come in live right here in the block or just down the street. It makes the workday feel more like being part of the community than just working at a bank branch. We keep a few extra chairs for when it gets busy on Monday mornings, and we just handle the transactions as they come in.
