Divya Bhaskar

Our place is at 20 Haji Bawa’s Dargha, right near the Sonal Cinema in the Makhtumpur area of Sarkhej. This part of Ahmedabad is always moving, especially with the cinema being right there and all the people it brings in. We are part of the Divya Bhaskar setup, so there is always something going on with news or printing schedules. It is definitely not a quiet office environment. There are always people rushing around with papers in their hands or talking loudly on their mobiles. The building itself is pretty easy to find because of the Dargha nearby, which everyone knows. We spend a lot of hours here, often late into the night when things get busy with the next day's work. The desks are usually covered in old newspapers and half-empty coffee cups. It is a bit messy, but that is just how we seem to work best. You can hear the sounds of the street coming through the windows all day—the autos honking and people walking to the movies. We do not have a big corporate lobby with fancy lights or anything like that. It is just a functional space where we get the daily tasks done. Sometimes the power goes out and we all have to wait around in the dark, which gives us a chance to talk about things other than work. It is a very local vibe here. Most of us have been working in this area for many years now.
