Being located in the GIDC means we are surrounded by all kinds of factories, but we deal with food items here. It is a different kind of work because you have to keep everything much cleaner than the neighboring chemical plants or iron shops. We handle a lot of packing and sorting throughout the day. The smell of whatever we are processing that morning usually fills the whole space. Sometimes it is spices, and other times it is just grains or lentils. We have a small team of local people who come in every morning to help. We do not have any big fancy signs outside to show where we are. Just the name on the door. The machines for sealing the bags are a bit old, but they work fine if you know how to handle them properly. We spend a lot of time checking the weights to make sure they are exactly right for the bags. It is a repetitive job, but it is steady work for everyone. I usually sit in the small cabin near the entrance to handle the bills and talk to the drivers. The floor gets swept three or four times a day because of the dust from the food items. We are not trying to be a global brand. We just supply to the local markets and wholesalers who know us well. The trucks come in the evening to pick up the crates. It is a lot of physical labor.
