Cambay Sapphire

Our place is at number 9 in the Ravat Gandhisagar Society in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad. It’s a residential part of the city so things are usually a bit quieter than the main markets. We have been here for some time now and the neighbors all know us. The building is just a standard structure like others in the society. Most of the staff comes from nearby neighborhoods like Sabarmati or New Ranip. We spend a lot of time keeping the place tidy because the dust in Ahmedabad can get everywhere if you aren't careful. There’s a small gate at the entrance of our section. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It’s more like a home that turned into a business space for Cambay Sapphire. In the mornings, you can hear the birds and the local vegetable sellers going through the lanes. We keep our desks in the main room and work through the list of things to do each day. If someone comes to visit, we usually offer them water or tea from the little kitchen in the back. It’s a very local way of doing things. We aren’t trying to be something we aren’t. It’s just a honest spot in a good part of town where we get our work finished before heading home in the evening. The local bus stop isn't too far away either. The society kids often play outside in the afternoons too.
