We operate out of room 106 in the Gaikvad Haveli over in Raikhad. It’s an old part of Ahmedabad, and the building has a lot of history to it. Being in a haveli makes the workday feel a bit different than if we were in a modern glass office. We handle travel arrangements for people in the 380001 area and beyond. It’s mostly just us sitting at our desks, answering the phone, and booking tickets. The walls are thick and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down outside. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the local tea sellers and the other business owners nearby. People walk in with their passports and a rough idea of where they want to go, and we try to make sense of the schedules for them. We don't use any fancy booking software that promises the world, just the standard stuff that works. It’s a practical business. We deal with trains, planes, and whatever else gets people from point A to point B. Sometimes the traffic in Raikhad is a nightmare, but that's just life in this part of the city. We like the character of our office and the fact that we can help our neighbors see a bit more of the world. There’s always someone coming in to ask about a visa or a bus route, and we just do our best to find the right answer. It’s a small, busy office.
