Asst. Sales Manager

Up here in Saharanpur, things move at their own pace on Bajoria Road. The office is located at 3/4298 Damodarpuri, which is a bit of a tucked-away spot if you don't know the area well. Being the Asst. Sales Manager means there is always a lot of paperwork on the desk and people coming in and out to discuss orders. It isn't a huge fancy office with glass walls, just a practical space where we get the work done. The street outside is usually full of bikes and the occasional rickshaw trying to navigate the turn. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are always wiping down the desks in the morning. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking sound but it keeps the air moving during those really hot Uttar Pradesh afternoons. Most of our days are spent on the phone or looking over spreadsheets. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, so we just sit out on the steps and talk to the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s a local business vibe through and through. We know the tea seller down the road by name and he knows exactly how much sugar we like. It’s not about being corporate or anything like that, it’s just about staying busy and making sure the sales numbers look okay at the end of every single month.
